Well here it is again, The British Fashion Council (BFC) has awarded this year their group of winners of the prestigious Vogue Fashion Fund. This years winners are Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou, Michael van der Ham, Mother of Pearl, Osman and Sophia Webster. From a personal stand point I’m a big fan of Sophia Webster’s shoes, they are pricey but also a work of art and make for some very “happy feet”. Another favorite designer of mine is Mary Katrantzou as a Wardrobe Stylist her clothes are amazing to shoot with, they’re very editorial and jump out of the page with her crazy prints mixed with solids. The seven British-based brands will compete for a prize consisting of high-level mentoring as well as a £200,000 grant designed to take their business to the next level.
“It was exciting to have such a diverse shortlist to consider, all of whom have carved out a distinctive niche for themselves," Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, who also chairs the Fund committee, said of the shortlist. "I congratulate all of them for reaching this stage in a highly competitive arena."
Caroline Rush, CEO of the BFC, applauded the chosen candidates who she said "have the incredible potential to change the future of British fashion and are all worthy candidates for the 2015 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund".
