British high-end designer retailer Selfridges & Co. caused quite the uproar with this window display in their Manchester store depicting just one of Alexander McQueens designs hanging from a "hang-man" like-ness. Considering the ingenious designer commit suicide by a haning back in February, just nine days after the death of his adored mother, this seems more than a little tactless. Maybe it was neglegence on the part of the creator of this window, but seriously didn't anyone see this and think hmmm? Since the unveiling of the window display and the back lash that ensued the retailer has apologized, by publishing this cryptic tweet, simply saying "We apologise for any offence caused. It was not intentional and the dress has been removed." So do we forgive and forget. What are your thoughts? So was this some sort of insensitive marketing ploy for some much needed exposure to launch them into international recognition or simply an oversight?!
